Festival Artists for Season 2010 - Jean-Michel Pilc Trio
Jean-Michel Pilc Trio
"A musical genius at work", the Washington Post's critic described the pianist (French origin) Jean Michel Pilc. He will participate in the festival for the first time with two top players, drummer Billy Hart known already to the festival audience and bassist Boris Kozlov who performed with "Mingus Dynasty" on 2006.
The trio plays fresh, adventurous and thrilling music with zest of traditional jazz mixed with versatile influences. Jean Michel played with Roy Haynes, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Michel Portal and worked with Harry Belafonte as his musical director.
