Dee Dee Bridgewater bathed in music before she could walk, watching her father teaching players as George Coleman and Charles Lloyd. As young adolescent she performed on professional stages and starred in the Broadway musical "The wizard of Oz". She became the first black actress to star as Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret.

But she was captured by jazz and as the successor of Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday she has become one of the world leading jazz singers. Ever since she was first introduced to the Israeli audience in the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat more than 10 years ago, she has returned on several occasions with different ensembles and programs.

Her irresistible smile, theatrical appearance and amazing singing ensure a fascinating and exceptional performance to be opened with her potential follower, the Israeli Marina Maximilian-Blumin.
